My first day of flying!  Roger went over the use of the checklist, starting the engine, taxi, run-up, takeoff, climbs, descents, turns, straight flights.

First, and perhaps most importantly, I chose an instructor whom I could put my trust in and learn from.

The plane I’ll be using is a Cessna 152.  It’s an immaculate, cool-looking two-seat, high-winged plane.  (Please see below.)  When you get in the plane, you see that you have a yoke – and, thank goodness, so does my instructor.

As we rise above the runway, it’s an extraordinary feeling.

So, how did I feel after this morning?  Like the turtle on its back staring at the sky with the quip, “OMG, I’m flying.”
