I am so excited to share the photos with you from Roger’s and my flight this afternoon to Pence Springs Airport, West Virginia to visit a grass runway so he could show me how soft landings are done!  I fell so in love with this place!

Pence Springs Airport is GORGEOUS and filled with a very rich story.  I hope you take the time to read the article.  It’s a fascinating place!  I loved finding this story since Roger had told me about the history of the airport and this article had pictures from back in the day.

It was thrilling to learn so much today!  Learning to fly is by far the most freedom I’ve ever experienced.   In the five months that I’ve been flying,  I’ve seen more beauty in the world than I thought I would see in a lifetime.   This is my dream.  It didn’t start out that way.  I was scared of heights until my instructor just started with where I was and worked with me from that point.  He was skillful, patient,  and kind and never tried to push me.  I look back now and  I am so very grateful for the opportunity to learn all that I have learned and continue to learn.

But, when the destination is stepping back in time, life is perfect!

Greenbrier River
There’s even a double railroad track on the other side of the river.
You can also learn to fly there.
