Focus on what makes you happy and do what gives meaning to your life.
-Barry Schwartz

Sky was bring you to your knees breathtakingly beautiful.  Every morning presents its own exquisite masterpiece for those who get up to enjoy it.  Flying at sunrise is exciting!  How could anyone look at this morning’s sky without being emotionally moved.

My landings were good today.  One was spectacular.  I got a “uh-huh uh-huh  I like it, uh-huh, uh-huh”  (KC and the Sunshine Band) from my flight instructor – which is FAR BETTER than “very nice”!  You couldn’t feel us land at all.

There was a whiff of clouds on the mountain tops.  Fog stayed off the end of the runway.  It could not have been more perfect.

I live for another day of flying!

From Pink Floyd, “Learning to Fly” (if you think you might want to learn to fly, or you’re learning to fly, you have to Google  all of the lyrics of this song.  You’ll LOVE the lyrics!  My first memory of Pink Floyd was a concert at Eastown Theater, Detroit.)

Above the planet on a wing and a prayer,
My grubby halo, a vapor trail in the empty air,
Across the clouds I see my shadow fly
Out of the corner of my watering eye
A dream unthreatened by the morning light
Could blow this soul right through the roof of the night
There’s no sensation to compare with this
Suspended animation, a state of bliss
Can’t keep my mind from the circling skies
Tongue-tied and twisted just an earth-bound misfit, I

Just a glimmer of the beautiful morning sky in Roanoke, VA

Check out the reflection on the cowling
The sun is slowly coming up. Picture reflected off of cowling.
Heading straight for it.
Peaks of Otter in the distance.

Fog this morning was hanging just off the end of the airport. I hadn’t seen this before.
downwind for landing. I just wanted to keep flying in this direction!
You just thank your lucky stars for being here right now at this very moment.
Exquisite Roanoke morning sun.
and when you think it can’t get any more beautiful, it does.
The fog was so light, it felt like you were floating above Never, Never Land
Gorgeous view right before landing

And, wait for it, see the reflection of the Cessna in the clouds, surrounded by the rainbow. Now this is the perfect day!!
