Sliver of pink in the morning sky. In the distance: Roanoke

It was brisk out, but nice and toasty in the cockpit, wind blowing at about 10-12 knots, taking off on Runway 12 at the Virginia Tech Montgomery Executive Airport this morning.    Seeing a sliver of pink in the twilight of the Eastern morning sky was magical.  It was a nice introduction to the day.

After marveling at the developing beauty of the morning, we headed for that beloved flagpole in Christiansburg so I could practice going around it.  I wasn’t exactly orbiting around it, but doing my best rendition.  Then, after pinpointing the white-green beacon (with a little help!) at the New River Valley Airport (KPSK),  I headed there to practice landings.  All I can say is that Cessna 152 was an amazing flying machine this morning!

As the colors of the sunrise faded away and clouds started becoming more intrusive, it was really sad when I had to do a final landing back at Tech’s airport and go to the office.  I was crabbing in, but the landing was great.

Good things come to those who wait.
Better things come to those who try.
But best things come to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams
